The Author + Publisher
Deidra Denton Merritt is an alumna of Lemoyne Owen College and has a BA in Sociology and subsequently obtained her MA in Human Resources Management at Webster University. During her collegiate years, she discovered a passion for writing working as the editor of the college newspaper. It was there; while writing for the school newspaper, she began to hone her skills in storyline development.
Her time at her beloved HBCU was pivotal for her career and her personal life, as she met her husband of thirty years. They are the proud parents of two sons and two grandchildren in this union.
Deidra’s dedication to writing extends beyond her own works. She has always found time to assist others with their writing assignments, leading her to become a published author with her heartfelt book “Mommy Am I Dumb - A Mother’s Dedication and Commitment to Her Son.” Following this achievement, Deidra founded Deed Literary Works, where she guides aspiring writers in creating rich characters, vivid scenery, and compelling manuscripts.
